I am from Czech Republic and first started to learn kiteboarding back in 2004 at Leucate. Being a self-student with old mean gear it took me quite a while to get it going and just when that happened I got seriously injured, which put me off my dreams to become a professional rider. I then started my own business and didn’t see the beach for few years, but since 2008 I am back on water and kiteboarding became huge part of my life.
What is your top spot?
I have been to many places around the world, but so far the best conditions for training and progressing are by far at Cumbuco lagoons in Brazil. There is perfect flat water, warm weather and steady everyday wind from September to January, no compromises. Love it there.
What are your achievements in this sport?
My biggest achievement by far is that I actually proceeded to start practicing freestyle, as having a bad shoulder injury with greatly limited range of movement in 2005 made me believe for a long time that I would never be able to unhook.
Nevertheless, I broke this through, and for last two years I was progressing with freestyle tricks, even to the point to take part in some regional competitions. Unfortunately, my progress has its limits due to the injury, but I am still happy for what I have been able to do so far. My best achievement so far is probably the top 50 IKA world ranking in 2013.
“My biggest passion are 30knots+ megaloops and I still hope there will be ladies category at the Megaloop Challenge one day.”
What is your favourite trick?
Hooked-in: Megaloop, freestyle: S-Bend
What do you think about Future Kiting gear?
The FK gear is the main reason why I engaged to join the company. When I first tried the 2010 classic model, I was so excited about its performance and how it improved my style of jumping back in those days, that I never wanted to have any other board. Since then the features of the boards have developed even much further, that I consider them now to be the top world class brand boards when it comes to the shape, features and quality.
What is your favourite board?
Lady Boss – it was love at first sight since Martin had develoed it
